Spring-ing.

Things we're doing to savor Spring this year...

  • Walks everyday with the stroller and Moby wrap
  • Stopping to look up and see the blossoming trees
  • Pausing to pick dandelions
  • Eating sandwiches outside at the Farmstead
  • Pretending we're queens, and the playground is our kingdom
  • Driving with the windows down and our toes hanging out
  • Family time on the back deck with iced green tea
  • Giving our chipping home a facelift - repainting it a new fun color scheme - can't wait to share the end result!

Spring is like heaven here in Dallas, and we don't want to miss a thing.  What are you doing to savor spring in your neck of the woods?

Mary Oliver. (30 days of thankfulness - day 13)

I was reminded of this wonderful Mary Oliver quote by my blog friend and kindred spirit, Linda.  I'm thankful for Mary Oliver's way of wordsmithing - just what my soul needs to understand.

This quote goes hand in hand with everything I'm learning in my current study of the book of Genesis.  As a believer in Christ, I can and should think about the beauty God created and be grateful.  He could have made it only functional, but He didn't.  He made it beautiful, too.

During the month of November, I'm practicing "30 days of thankfulness" - will you join me?  Use your blog, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to voice your thankfulness for something every day in November.  My hope is that this daily routine will create in me a heart of thankfulness and gratitude, no matter the day or month or situation.

What's on my Kindle?

This is by far my favorite Kindle screensaver. Shocker.

My Kindle was a generous birthday gift from Steven's parents.  Before I had one, I never thought I'd appreciate a digital book reader.  After all, I have pledged to read the printed word, and nothing can replace the smell, the feel, the comfort of a well-loved book's pages in my hands.  However, as a nursing mom, I have to admit that holding the skinny Kindle in one hand and cradling my baby in the other has proven quite handy!  It's easy to navigate the pages with one finger.  There are tons of free books you can download.  And I've been able to read so many more books this way.

So, what's on my Kindle right now?  In true Christine style, my Kindle books are organized in neat little categories.
